LAS VEGAS (Feb. 28, 2017) – Skye Canyon, a 1,700-acre master-planned community in Northwest Las Vegas hosts its inaugural Fit Fest event on Sunday, March 19, 2017. A family-friendly fitness and active living themed festival; Fit Fest features Silent Savasana yoga led by renowned teacher Dray Gardner, fitness classes and demonstrations, food trucks, an artisanal market and an active lifestyle vendor expo with children’s activities. Held at Skye Canyon Park, Fit Fest is free and open to the public. The festival area is open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Fit Fest activity schedule is below.)
The second annual Skye Canyon 8K Trail Mix and 5K Road Race that starts at 8 a.m. at Skye Canyon Park kicks off the day’s events. The race benefits Outside Las Vegas Foundation and is open to runners and walkers of all ability levels. The Fit Fest artisanal market features local vendors offering gifts and goodies such as Zeeta Body’s sprays and herbs, spice blends from Spicy Camel Trading along with items from The Pickled Pantry, Island Brittle and more. There will also be food and beverage offerings from local food truck vendors; Slidin’ Thru and 50 Shades of Green.
The outdoor expo offers guests a chance to learn about Skye Canyon’s homebuilders and outdoor adventure opportunities from groups like Desert Wildlife Refuge, Go Mt. Charleston, Friends of Nevada Wilderness, and Lee Canyon, among others. Other activities include a rock-climbing wall, mini-golf, and a children’s obstacle course.

Fit Fest also marks the one-year anniversary of Skye Canyon’s official grand opening. Skye Canyon recently rounded out phase one of development with the addition of Pardee Homes’ Keystone neighborhood to its line-up of homebuilders that includes Century Communities, Pulte Homes, and Woodside Homes.
