Skye Canyon marked its 100th home closing by donating 100 bicycles to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. The event took place on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2016, and the event was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
Olympia Companies has been a longtime supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada, and Skye Canyon residents and staff were present for the event. Everyone agreed that gifting bicycles to the Boys & Girls Clubs made the holiday season more special.
The donation was a community effort, as Las Vegas Cyclery assembled and delivered the bicycles to Skye Center, and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada donated 100 helmets. Chris Armstrong, Olympia Companies’ VP who is also an avid cyclist, presented the bicycles to Andy Bischel, President/CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada.
“Skye Canyon is donating 100 bikes to the Boys and Girls Club because we think it’s important to be active, be passionate about activity and to live an active lifestyle,” said Armstrong. “We thought partnering with the Boys and Girls Club on Giving Tuesday was a terrific opportunity to start off the holidays and give kids the opportunity to be active.”
Skye Canyon believes in helping its residents and the community enjoy a more healthy and active lifestyle. We look forward to more Fit Lives Here events that involve our residents and the community in 2017.
