It was a happy ho-ho-ho holiday for 100 Skye Canyon families recently as they took advantage of Skye Canyon’s offer of free socially distant photos with Santa. Capturing the magical moment with Santa and his sleigh at Skye Center, photo sessions were by reservation and images delivered digitally. Kids in attendance also received special goodie bags.
As part of the community’s ongoing Thrive@Skye program, Photos with Santa provided a way for residents and families to safely capture the spirit of the holiday season. In addition to Santa, popular food truck Alpha Dawg was also on hand serving up gourmet franks to families following their photos.
“Despite the ongoing Covid-related limitations to gatherings, it’s important to us to be able to help bring some form of holiday cheer this season to the residents and families in Skye Canyon,” said Brittany Bolduc, Events Coordinator. “We look forward to next year and celebrating the season with the community with the return of our annual Pray for Snow event.”
To further bring the community together while safely staying a part this holiday season, Skye Canyon also recently participated in Project 150’s Feed it Forward campaign. With a community goal of feeding 200 high school students and their families, the Skye Canyon community certainly proved it is the season of giving as they collectively raised $6,585 – exceeding the goal and raising enough money to feed 263 under resourced students and families.
