Skye Canyon residents really showed their ho-ho-ho holiday spirit this year with the first annual Holiday Home Decorating Contest. Orchestrated by the Skye Canyon Community Association, residents were encouraged to deck the halls for the 2020 holiday season, and they did just that.
Showcasing their holiday spirits and decorating skills, the inaugural contest created a fun festive competition between neighbors in the Skye Canyon community and challenged the residents’ imagination and creativity. Utilizing lights, inflatables, scenes, and traditional decorations, the Classic Christmas Award recognized the best use of traditional décor, the Light Up the Town Award recognized the best and most creative use of lights, the Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree Award recognized the best use of music and technology, and the Santa’s Workshop Award recognized the best overall decorations.
Judged by the Skye Canyon Board of Directors, all individual winners received a $100 Amazon e-gift card. Winners were based on originality, creativity, quality, level of detail and theme. Delighted with the turnout, the Skye Canyon Community Association Board looks forward to hosting this again for the 2021 holiday season and can’t wait to once again see the dazzling displays.
