Help feed local families – Every $25 donation feeds a family of four
Skye Canyon is on a mission to feed as many high school students and their families as they can this holiday season. Partnering with Project 150, Skye Canyon residents and the public are encouraged to donate to Feed it Forward Nov. 14 – Dec 3. With a community goal of raising enough money to feed 200 families, Skye Canyon CoOp will match all donations up to $5,000 – doubling the number of families fed. Each $25 Feed it Forward meal box feeds a family of four and contains a full Thanksgiving feast with all the fixings, including turkey, vegetables, stuffing, and dessert. Project 150 volunteers will pack and deliver the holiday meal boxes for Thanksgiving and for the Christmas holidays.
With a mission to provide support and services to homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged high school students so they can remain in school, graduate, and build bright futures, Project 150 has been serving Nevada students in need since 2011.
In 2019, the Las Vegas nonprofit served more than 4,440 under-resourced high school students throughout Clark County and has an overall goal this year of providing 2,000 holiday meal boxes during this festive season.
“This year the need is perhaps greater than ever,” said Kelli Kristo, Executive Director of Project 150. “It’s critical that our students and their families have meals to enjoy during the holidays. The need is so great, and we are thankful for the generosity of Skye Canyon residents and the overall community. We know we can make the holidays brighter if we just Feed it Forward.”
