After the race, Skye Canyon’s second annual Fit Fest kicked off at Skye Canyon Park. A family-friendly celebration of fitness and active living, Fit Fest offered activities for people of all ages. Over 1,000 people attended.

Runners, walkers, and attendees who needed to rejuvenate took advantage of Lift With Aloha’s FST stretching for the entire body. Kids scaled the rock climbing wall and had fun navigating through the obstacle course and also had a chance to make slime!

Acclaimed local chef Will Staten conducted healthy cooking demos every 30 minutes and enticed attendees’ taste buds with samples of his strawberry salsa and chips. Whole Foods’ Build Your Own Trail Mix station was a huge hit and attendees mixed and matched nuts, dried fruit, and candies. Local food trucks like 50 Shades of Green and Latin Fusion served-up meals and munchies while Skye Bistro prepared an array of specialty Starbucks drinks.

Star Nursery brought over 100 varieties of veggie plants and flowers, teaching kids and some adults how to plant basil, cucumber, and other veggies so they could enjoy a home garden. The Southern Nevada Bicycle Coalition’s “paint bike” was a favorite for kids who pedaled to splatter paint, creating an original work of art. SNVBC also handed out reflectors and helmets to promote bike safety. Southwest Bikes showcased a few of their bikes, with the most popular bike being the new electric bike.

Skye Pass partner Lee Canyon was among over 30 vendors like Soccer Shots, Bombs & Bubbles, Spicy Camel, Heal Outside the Box, Angry Joe Coffee, Southwest Medical, and Integrative Acupuncture of Southern Nevada.

The second annual Fit Fest was a big success! It’s clear our residents and the Las Vegas community enjoy celebrating the outdoors, active living, and healthy cuisine—which is all a part of Skye Canyon Life. Stay tuned for more Fit Lives Here events!
