Kids Can Pick a Pumpkin at Skye Canyon Park and Help Create a Change Now on Saturday, October 14
Halloween is right around the corner, and we are jumping into the holiday spirit with plenty of treats for local kids. On Saturday, Oct. 14, children can take home a free pumpkin and treat-or-treat bag during Skye Canyon’s first Pick a Pumpkin event.
The fun starts at noon and runs until 6 p.m. Kids and parents can browse the pumpkin patch of about 1,000 10 to 15-pound pumpkins set up outside of Skye Center. While the pumpkins are free, a $1 donation for each pumpkin is suggested to support Create a Change Now, a local non-profit committed to educating children and families about proper nutrition to combat preventable childhood diseases such as obesity. Skye Canyon will match donations up to $1000.
Families can make it a day to remember by taking advantage of a Halloween themed photo booth area that will include bales of hay, pumpkins, and other festive fall decorations. Kids can break-in their new treat-or-treat bags when they visit Skye Canyon’s model homes where homebuilders will be giving out full-sized candy bars.
Halloween costumes are welcome but not required. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit our Pick a Pumpkin Facebook page.
