Celebrate the Arrival of Fall with Art, Food and Fun.
Skye Canyon’s 8th annual juried chalk art contest theme is “Under the Skye: Nature’s Palette”! Artists of all skill levels are
encouraged to imaginatively interpret this hopeful theme and display the power of uplifting artistic creativity as they vie for top honors and cash prizes. Artists are invited to participate in this unique event during Chalk & Cheers, a fall art festival on Saturday, October 12th, 2024 at Skye Canyon Park. There is no fee to enter but the contest is limited to 50 artists, and artists should bring their own supplies. Chalk Artists can register as either a student artist, amateur artist or professional artist and can win cash prizes!
Skye Canyon is also offering up to thirty, 10’x10′ booths at the vendor village where local artisans in all sorts of creative mediums can showcase and sell their wares. The cost of a vendor booth is $150, which will be directly donated to the event’s benefitting charity.
Chalk Artist Information
WHO:
The chalk art contest is open to both professional and amateur artists who will compete in three categories:
- Students 12-18
- Amateur 18+
- Professional
PRIZES:
In each category:
- $300 for First place
- $200 for Second place
- $100 for Third place
Additional prizes (one winner per category):
- $100 for Best Use of Color
- $100 for Best 3D Piece
- $100 for People’s Choice Award
WHEN:
On Saturday, October 12th, artist check-in is at 8 am and work must be completed by 3:30 pm.
A jury of local art aficionados will judge contestants work between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm, and winners will be announced shortly thereafter.

Vendor Information
Exhibit your work at the Art Fair!
Skye Canyon is offering up to thirty-two, 10’ x 10’ booths at the vendor village where local artisans in all sorts of creative mediums can showcase and sell their wares. The cost of a vendor booth is $150, which will be directly donated to Skye Serves, the community’s ongoing philanthropic outreach program.
This pop-up vendor village will include all mediums such as but not limited to paint, sketch, pottery, jewelry, boutique, pencil/charcoals, sculpture, photography, woodwork, among others. Artists do not have to compete in the chalk art competition to be considered for a vendor booth.
