The Skye Canyon community certainly proved it is the season of giving as they collectively raised $6,585 during this year’s Feed it Forward campaign benefitting Project 150.
This year’s Chalk & Cheers may have looked a little different, but what remained the same was that participants and attendees all enjoyed a day outdoors at Skye Canyon Park filled with colorful chalk art, food, drinks and family fun. Nearly 40 artists ranging in skill levels competed to win awesome prizes for their chalk art.
More than 400 separate items including backpacks, scissors, thumb drives, calculators, pencils, crayons, notebooks, erasers, rulers, washable markers, glue sticks, folders, and paper were dropped off at various designated locations throughout Skye Canyon including at the drive-through Farmers Market during the weeklong event.
The new socially distant community event was a huge success with nearly 50 vehicles decked out in red, white, and blue as Skye Canyon residents showed off their patriotic and community pride all while maintaining safety and health guidelines.
More than 350 stay-at-home stargazers celebrated World Astronomy Day on May 2nd by participating in Skye & Stars (Driveway Edition), a live, virtual guided tour of the nighttime sky led by Keith Caceres, president of the Las Vegas Astronomical Society.
Skye Canyon Celebrates Earth Day with #ChalkForEarth – A new socially distant, yet family-focused community event
In celebration of Earth Day, Skye Canyon hosted its first socially distant community event, ChalkForEarth on April 22. ChalkForEarth provided an opportunity to show community spirit and get creative while maintaining the safety guidelines in place.
Skye Canyon’s Fit Fest 2020 was the biggest and best yet as more than 360 runners and families enjoyed a day of racing and fitness-focused fun at Skye Canyon Park. 100% of proceeds from race registration will directly benefit the Kline Veterans Fund, a charitable organization providing financial assistance and other support to homeless, at-risk and indigent veterans and their families in Southern Nevada.
For Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving, residents, and friends gathered at Skye Center as Skye Canyon presented a $5,000 donation to Project 150. The Las Vegas-based nonprofit organization provides support and services for at-risk high school students so they can remain in school, graduate, and build a bright future.
Nearly 1,000 skiers, snowboarders, and winter enthusiasts gathered at Skye Center on Saturday, Nov. 2, to pray to the snow gods at Lee Canyon’s fourth annual après ski-themed event, co-hosted by Skye Canyon.
Skye Canyon has teamed up with Lee Canyon for the second annual Spread the Warmth winter coat and beanie drive benefiting Project 150. By donating gently used or new coats, jackets, zip-up hoodies, and new beanies, you will empower the vulnerable youth in Las Vegas and become a part of their solution.
Once again, Skye Canyon is teaming up with its Skye Pass partner Lee Canyon to invite all lovers of cold weather and fresh snowfall to the 4th annual Pray for Snow Party on Saturday, November 3rd.
